Lois Venable Brown, 90, of Paris died Wednesday, Feb. 14, 2018, at her niece’s home in Cottage Grove.
Visitation is after 11 a.m. Saturday in McEvoy Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow at 2 p.m. with Charles Cate officiating. Pallbearers will be Ed Cuthbertson, Mike Bryson, Buddy Barker, Elijah Caldwell, Reggie Hill and Paul Brown. Honorary pallbearers will be nephews and great nephews. Burial will follow at Bethesda Cemetery.
Brown was born Sept. 4, 1927, in Henry County to the late Conrad and Sue Bennett Venable.
She was married to Paul Gordon Brown on April 9, 1966, and he preceded her in death on Nov. 6, 2006.
She formerly worked and retired from Holley Carburetor of Paris. Brown was a member of the New Bethel Church of Christ. According to her family, she was a great cook and wonderful seamstress who made many beautiful quilts.
She is survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Also preceding her in death was a brother, Frank Venable.
