Traveling to Hornbeak to battle at Black Oak Elementary School gave the Inman Middle School basketball teams a chance to score two wins Tuesday night.

The Lady Bulldogs rolled to a 51-12 triumph, while the Bulldogs scored a 51-27 victory. Inman’s girls are now 9-1 on the season, while the Bulldogs improve to 10-0.

Inman is scheduled to play Dyersburg at 6 p.m. Monday.



Inman romped out to a huge first half lead. The Lady Bulldogs went up 23-3 in the first quarter and pushed its lead to 44-4 by halftime. Black Oak posted a 6-4 scoring edge in the third period to make the score 48-10. In the fourth quarter, Inman held a 3-2 scoring advantage to finish with a 51-12 victory.

Fourteen Lady Bulldogs scored in the contest led by Mary Raye Smith with eight points. Scoring six points each were Abby Gilstrap, Bonnie Nance and Shamaya Humphreys. Mary Kate Coley and Harlee Veazey scored four points each, while Heaven Bowen and Zoe Winstead both added three points. Taya Russell, Christeonna Tharpe, Leilani Taylor, Narriyah Teague and Heaven Phelps all scored two points. Faith Mahone hit for one point.



Inman’s boys ran out to a 21-0 first quarter lead and never let Black Oak get into the game. Both teams posted 12 points in the second quarter to give Inman a 33-12 halftime lead.

The third quarter saw an 11-11 tie leave Inman in front 44-23. Inman finished with a 7-4 scoring edge in the fourth frame to make the final score 51-27.

Caleb Gill paced the Inman scoring list with 16 points, while Jackson Hayes added 11. Bryce Donaldson scored seven points, while Jayce Kendall tossed in five. Norman Duncan and Zamariyon Kendall chipped in four points each. Isaiah McDonald and Drew Beaver scored two points.

Black Oak’s Chandler Yates hit for 11 points.
