PARIS TN: Virus testing at Bethel site wrapping up

Henry County Health Department employees Lori Taylor (left) and Paula Perkins, both registered nurses, prepare for their next patient at the COVID-19 testing site on the Bethel University Paris campus. Taylor, the nursing supervisor at the Health Department, said Friday was the final day drive-through testing will be done at that site. People who want to get tested may go to the location between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. They can stay in their vehicles, and the nurses will go to them with paperwork and the test materials. The whole procedure takes about 10-15 minutes, and results are typically available within three-five days. The testing site at the Bethel Paris campus has been open on weekdays since late March, and, as recently as Wednesday, there were still 36 people who came to be tested. Tests will shift back Monday to the Henry County Health Department building on Joy Street.
