Gospel Light Ministries relocates to Chapel Hill Road

Gospel Light Ministries will have its first church service at 2:30 p.m. Sunday at its new location, 1210 Chapel Hill Road in Paris. The site was formerly home to Chapel Hill Methodist Church, built in 1857, but the building has been remodeled. The church had previously been meeting at Paris Inn & Suites.

Music will be provided by Shiloh.

Gospel Light Ministries is pastored by Eugene McWherter, who also is the leader and founder of Recovery Fellowship. 


Revived faith conference planned at First Baptist Church

First Baptist Church, 313 N. Poplar St. in Paris, will host a revived faith conference beginning Sunday and running through Wednesday.

The guest speaker for the conference will be Mark Bearden.

The conference will begin Sunday with prayer time at 8 a.m., followed by Sunday school at 9 a.m. Morning worship will be at 10:15 a.m. and a churchwide fellowship luncheon will be served at 11:30 a.m. Evening worship will be at 6 p.m.

A family meal will be served at 5 p.m. Monday-Wednesday, followed by worship at 6 p.m.. 


Tea, fashion show scheduled at Union Grove Baptist Church

Union Grove Baptist Church, 45 Gore Road in Puryear, will sponsor a tea and fashion show at 6 p.m. Saturday at the Central Community Service Center on Jones Bend Road Extended. 

Tickets are $10 and can be purchased at the door.

Proceeds from the event will benefit St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and Shriners Hospital.


Senior breakfast planned Saturday at Wiley Chapel

Wiley Chapel United Methodist Church, 422 W. Blythe St. in Paris,  will host its breakfast of love at 9 a.m. Saturday.

The breakfast will last through 10:30 a.m.

Anyone 55 or older may attend the breakfast.
