Merison’s Furniture will host its eighth annual free spring Showcase shopping event from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. at both Paris store locations.
The event will include more than $10,000 worth of prizes to be given away.
Merison’s will showcase the latest styles and trends in home furnishings and home décor, according to general manager Meredith Boyd Leathers.
Sales and door-buster specials are planned throughout both stores during these two days only, as well as special savings on clearance items and one-of-a-kind pieces.
With more than 15,000 square feet of showroom space between the two Merison’s stores, there is a wide variety of products and options to showcase.
Adam Smith, store manager, said his team spends months preparing for this event.
“It’s our biggest event of the year. Our team preps for this show over several months. When the weekend arrives, it’s like Christmas for us!
“We enjoy spending time with our customers and seeing old friends. It’s a really fun weekend, and I couldn’t be prouder of how our stores look and all of the hard work our team puts in behind the scenes to make it happen,” he said.
“As Adam said, we are proud of how hard our team works to put this show together for the community each year,” Leathers said.
“We are proud to be a locally owned small business in Paris with a wonderful community that surrounds us.
“We offer affordable payment plans (12 months same-as-cash during the event) and free delivery within 50 miles, because we believe that every customer deserves to have a comfortable home no matter the budget,” she said. “We want to help customers achieve this.”
Merison’s design consultants Cindy Lowe and Miranda Rial have been working on Showcase design and concept for several months.
“We want to create an atmosphere that is filled with creativity and inspiration for any customer who walks into our stores,” Lowe said. “We want our customers to leave with a feeling of excitement and to envision all of the possibilities for their home.”
Rial, who helps manage Merison’s social media pages, said, “Check out our Facebook and Instagram pages. “We are constantly working on new and creative ideas throughout the year.”
Merison’s offers free design consultations. Their designers will even visit customers’ homes to measure rooms and consult on furniture placement, colors and design.
“We love working with our customers to help them create rooms in their home that they treasure,” Lowe said.
Lowe and Rial will be available during the showcase to consult about color, texture and design. During the showcase, anyone who schedules an in-home design consultation for a later date will receive 20% off any custom Bassett order.
Vendor booths will be set up inside Merison’s Home Furnishings at 307 Fairview St. at the Highway 641 corner, showcasing an array of wares including jewelry, home goods, kitchen items and more.
Eagle Buildings will be offering specials during the two-day event, including no security deposit, $50 off 8- or 10-foot-wide buildings and $100 off 12-foot-wide buildings.
PLUS, formerly known as Plus Endowment, will have a food booth set up both days by the Eagle Buildings next to Merison’s Value Furniture at 202 Memorial Drive, across from Lowe’s.
The Henry County Sheriff’s Department will be grilling for PLUS to help raise funds for the program to assist local teachers in providing creative educational opportunities for their classrooms. They will be selling ribeye steak sandwiches, chips and a drink for $10.
The Farmer’s Perk, based in Jackson, will be selling an array of coffee and doughnuts on Friday outside of Merison’s Home Furnishings on Fairview with Rollin’ Snow offering shaved ice treats there on Saturday.
Tim Boyd, Merison’s owner, said attendees will have the opportunity to register for the giveaways during the event.
“Prizes include a free room makeover, an Ashley Furniture giveaway, a Bassett 100% top-grain leather power recliner; a mattress and adjustable base set; several home décor gift baskets and much more.
“You must be 18 years old to be eligible to win. Everyone who attends will receive a punch card, and you must have it punched at both stores to be eligible to win the prizes,” he said.
