The Henry County Soil Conservation District recently awarded three $500 scholarships to Henry County students who plan to major in and pursue a career in an agriculture or natural resources related field. The Charles W. “Dickie” Brewer Memorial Scholarship was awarded to Blake Kennedy, son of Chad and Stephanie Kennedy. Kennedy graduated from Murray State University in May with a degree in agricultural systems technology and will continue graduate studies at MSU this fall. The Henry County Soil Conservation District Ssholarships were awarded to graduating Henry County High School seniors Josey Pettit and Addison Delaney. Pettit, daughter of Tommy and Amy Pettit, plans to attend Mississippi State University this fall and will major in ag economics. Delaney, daughter of Scott and Heather Delaney, plans to attend Murray State this fall, and will major in agriscience technology.
