Cotton producers and agricultural industry professionals can learn about the latest cotton research at the University of Tennessee Institute of Agriculture’s annual Cotton Focus Friday in Jackson.

The event will be at the West Tennessee AgResearch and Education Center, located at 605 Airways Blvd. in Jackson. Registration begins at 8 a.m. There is no cost to attend.

Cotton Focus presentations will address variety selection, insect and disease management, and a 2019 economic outlook. Also on the agenda are a panel discussion on auxin herbicide stewardship and regulations as well as a roundtable discussion led by extension cotton specialists from multiple states.

An update on boll weevil eradication and a report from the National Cotton Council rounds out the program. Pesticide recertification and CCA points will be available. Lunch will be provided.
