The regular meeting of Maria Nance’s fourth-grade 4-H club at Lakewood School was on Jan. 21. The meeting was called to order by President Lillian Eaton.

Vice President James Wilson called on Kaylee Wilson to lead the Pledge of Allegiance and Brady Almand to lead the 4-H pledge.

The thought of the day was given by McKenna Massey, and a poem was read by Matthew Ybarra. Secretary Anna Jo Wardlaw called roll and read the last meeting’s minutes. No demonstrations were given because of the speech contest.

The 4-H bulletin board was created by Massey and was given a purple ribbon. The title was “4-H is Something to Taco-Bout.”

The contest for this month was the speech contest. Purple ribbon winners were Massey and Eaton. Blue ribbon winners were Ybarra, James Wilson, Kayne White, Connor Moore and Asher Allbritan.

Red ribbon winners were Tiffany Tyler, Kaylee Wilson, Landon Marlar, Jayden Lowery, Almand and Braylon McCartney. All contestants were given Clover Bucks.

The next meeting will be Feb. 18 and the demonstration contest will be held. Demonstrations should be two-three minutes long. Students may use notecards if needed. No PowerPoints are allowed. All demonstrations will need posters. At the end of each demonstration, all sources of information should be shared and participants should ask if there are any questions.
