On Nov. 28, LeighAnne Durham’s seventh-grade 4-H club at Lakewood School had its third meeting of the year.
Extension agent Staci Foy welcomed the group and passed out November newsletters.
President Conner Clark was absent, so vice president Colter Thurmond called the meeting to order and asked Brevin Hutson to lead the pledge of allegiance.
Jacob Kohler was called on to lead the 4-H pledge and Amber Brush gave the thought of the day. Finally, Kayla Jeffrey read a poem.
A demonstration on juggling a soccer ball was given by Aidan Swisher. Courtney Colley and Chloe Webb received purple ribbons for their bulletin board, “4-H is Snow Much Fun.”
This month’s contest was the recycled craft. Members receiving ribbons for their crafts were Hutson, purple; Tyler Puckett, blue; and Swisher and Stephanie Bell, red.
The next meeting is scheduled for Jan. 30 and the contest will be public speaking.
