Paris native Lydia Shoemaker grew up singing, and sang with the Henry County High School Madrigals as a teenager. Now, Shoemaker is a senior music major at Union University in Jackson, although she still carries with her a deep love for her hometown.
She returns to Paris this weekend to perform as a part of the Tennessee River Jam. She’ll be singing at 10 a.m. Saturday at Sweet Jordan’s, 849 Volunteer Drive in Paris.
The singer-songwriter writes music about her own personal stories and heartaches.
“I share my music hoping that someone will relate and not feel alone,” Shoemaker said.
