Formerly the front man for the group Third Day, Mac Powell will be on stage at 8 p.m. March 23 at the Krider Performing Arts Center.

Mac Powell and the Family Reunion were first introduced to fans on the sold-out Third Day farewell tour in June 2018.

That tour played to more than 100,000 fans in 14 major U.S. markets, concluding a 25-year touring career.

Powell grew up in a small town in Alabama with a love for music that began at an early age, as both of his parents would sing and play guitar around the house.

Powell soon began to sing in the local country church by day, and listen to his dad’s record collection by   night.

When he was a sophomore in high school, he moved to Atlanta, where  his passion for music and faith found an outlet in the band Third Day.

Over the past 25 years, Third Day has helped transform Christian music and built a devoted fan base while traveling the world many times over, selling 10 million albums; earning four Grammy awards, one American Music Award and 24 Dove awards; and being inducted into the Georgia Music Hall of Fame.

Mac Powell and the Family Reunion officially started in early 2018 as the next chapter of Powell’s musical journey.

The Family Reunion is a band that has developed over the past several years from the musical “brothers” who have been recording and playing live with Powell in support of his first two independent solo projects.
