The Wilson Brothers Band, along with two popular local musicians, will get things going in the Paris Landing area Friday night, with a big 7 p.m. show at The Breakers Marina.
Johnny Mac and Josh McKee will also be part of the bill that night at The Breakers.
Johnny Mac — also known as John McDaniel — will be everywhere during the Tennessee River Jam, performing Friday night, then again as part of the main stage show at the lake on Saturday, and finishing up on Sunday afternoon at The Breakers.
Another local guy, McKee is from Big Sandy. He’s been picking up guitar gigs more and more locally.
Just last week, he played as part of the Cheeseburger in Paradise fundraiser for the Henry County Carl Perkins Center at The Breakers.
He’s played there often, as well as at clubs in places like Murray and Hendersonville. McKee is married to the former Rachel Robison of Paris.
KEEPING IT IN THE FAMILY
Brothers Chad and Kyle Wilson have traveled from their small Alabama hometown to stages big and small across the country.
They’re the fourth generation in a family of musicians and entertainers. Chad began traveling with the Johnson Quartet, his grandparents’ Southern gospel quartet, when he was 4 years old.
Kyle joined the family on the road almost at birth and both brothers traveled with their family to churches, revivals and outdoor music events across the country.
As the older brother, Chad moved to Nashville first while Kyle was in high school. Chad got a record deal, and Kyle followed by also moving to Nashville and becoming lead guitar player with the Wayne Mills Band.
The two brothers gravitated toward forming their own band together.
After a nightclub performance, they were set up for a meeting with producer Chris Rowe.
Joined by guitarist David Sanford and drummer Bobby Spence, the band has been touring for the last four months, in places as distant as Syracuse, N.Y., to Huntington, W.Va., to Clearwater, Fla.
There will be a $10 cover charge for the Friday night show at The Breakers, located at 526 Shamrock Road on Kentucky Lake.
