Henry Volunteer Fire Department member Ron Wyatt was recently honored through Modern Woodmen’s Hometown Hero Program in recognition for his service by Modern Woodmen’s Chapter 13449.

“We are indebted to all first responders and volunteers,” said Tony Boyd, chapter coordinator, “especially those that have served as long as Ron.”

“Ron has served our community for over 42 years and served in most every capacity we have and is always helping our newest members in the department,” said Henry Fire Chief Keith Qualls.

“I’ve known Ron for over twenty years and he always has a smile and a kind word for everyone he meets, and the Hometown Hero Program helps us acknowledge volunteers like Ron in our community,”

A certificate was presented to Wyatt, a grant for $100 was presented to the Henry Volunteer Fire Department and the local Modern Woodmen chapter has been able to assist the department in a very successful matching funds project for the department.

A fraternal benefits society, Modern Woodmen provides life insurance and annuity products to benefit the quality of the lives of its members, their families and communities.

Boyd can be contacted at 731-243-2693.
