Forever Friends plans yard sale
Many of the volunteers involved here with the Forever Friends Animal Sanctuary are planning a yard sale fundraiser this weekend for the organization.
The sale is planned, with a huge variety of items, from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday and Saturday in the back yard of the home of one of the no-kill shelter’s volunteers, at 1185 Highway 77 south of Paris, five houses past the Highway 218 Bypass.
Wrong supplement recipients
An article in Tuesday’s Post-Intelligencer contained misleading information about salary supplements being proposed in the Henry County budget.
During a meeting of the county budget committee Monday, County Mayor Brent Greer said he plans to propose a 2% salary supplement in October for county employees. The story incorrectly said the supplement was for county officials.
County employees did not get a cost of living raise in the original budget adopted in July.
County firefighters, not city
An article published in The Post-Intelligencer on Tuesday contained incorrect information about a grant that Henry County is receiving.
The article states that money received via a Community Development Block Grant from the Tennessee Department of Economic and Community Development would be used to purchase two pumper tanker fire trucks to be used by the Paris Fire Department.
Actually, the new fire trucks will be used by various volunteer fire departments in the rural areas of the county.
