Henry County Medical Center recognized Lori McCormick as Department Director of the Quarter for April-June 2022, during its July department directors meeting.
McCormick was recognized for her contributions to the organization through all the events for employees as well as her work ethic.
“Without a doubt, there is one thing that is consistent about HCMC and HCHC (Henry County Healthcare Center) employee, staff and provider events, and that is the electric energy that is generated by our very own Lori McCormick,” a hospital statement read.
“All one has to do is utter
‘we are planning a celebration’ … and her eyes start to sparkle.”
McCormick has been involved with the hospital’s employee appreciation day, nurse’s week, and hospital week celebrations and two retirement parties.
According to a hospital spokesman, McCormick makes every event memorable. She personally assures that everyone feels special with her warm and engaging smile.
She is always going above and beyond to ensure that no staff are left behind when it comes to special events for the organization, the hospital officials said.
“She will jump in a van and make sure that no clinic goes without whatever goodies we have at HCMC and HCHC,” a hospital spokesman said.
“We appreciate Lori’s commitment to HCMC, HCHC and its affiliated clinics and services,” said Rachel Carroll, director of human resources. “The recognition is so well deserved, and we greatly appreciate her wonderful contributions to the culture of teamwork.”
McCormick began working at HCMC in May 2013, and came to the hospital with 31 years of experience. She earned her certification in dietary management from Auburn University.
She began as a certified dietary manager prior to taking on the role of director of food services. She lives in Big Sandy.
The hospital recognizes department leaders every quarter as well as selecting a department leader of the year at the annual service awards banquet.
