Pastors at six churches in downtown Paris — First Baptist, First Christian, First Presbyterian, First United Methodist, Grace Episcopal and Quinn Chapel African Methodist Episcopal churches — have led noon devotionals during Holy Week for many years.
Now, they are preparing to incorporate social distancing into the plan.
At noon every day, Monday through April 10, anyone can use a computer or mobile phone to visit the Downtown Paris Association’s Facebook page to virtually attend these devotionals.
The messages will be broadcast on Facebook Live each day from the sanctuary of First United Methodist in Paris, and the Rev. Joy Weathersbee will welcome guest speakers to share devotionals.
Trent Bullock of First Baptist will speak on Monday, the Rev. Caren Teichmann of First Christian will speak Tuesday, John Dandridge of Quinn Chapel will speak on Wednesday, Bob Valentine of First Presbyterian will speak on Thursday and Pam Evans of Grace Episcopal will speak Friday.
