Gospel music singer and Henry County native Dr. Bobby Jones is expected to visit Paris later this week for the formal dedication of new sign honoring his connection to the area.
The Paris-Henry County Chamber of Commerce confirmed Monday morning that the dedication would take place at 2 p.m. Friday at the park in downtown Paris.
Jones, a Grammy- and Dove-winning signer known for the “Bobby Jones Gospel” television program has been honored by the state with a Tennessee Music Pathways marker.
Jones’ last visit to Paris was when he performed a concert at the Krider Performing Arts Center November 2016 to benefit the Mout Zion Baptist Church building fund.
Kasey Muench, community relations director for the chamber, said additional details on the ceremony would be released later by the chamber.
