The following seven governmental meetings are scheduled during the coming week. All are open to the public.
The Northwest Henry Utility District board will meet at 6 p.m. at the Whitlock fire station.
The Puryear Mayor and Board of Aldermen will meet at 4:30 p.m. at Puryear City Hall.
The Henry County Highway Commission will meet at 5:30 p.m. at the Highway Department headquarters on Cedar Street.
The Cottage Grove Legislative Council will meet at 6 p.m. at the Cottage Grove School building.
The Henry County Medical Center Long-Range Planning Committee will meet at 5:30 p.m. in the hospital board room.
The Paris Board of Zoning Appeals will meet at 6 p.m. at Paris city hall, followed by a meeting of the Paris Municipal Regional Planning Commission.
The Henry Mayor and Board of Aldermen will meet at 6 p.m. at Henry City Hall.
Paris man arrested for drugs
A Paris man was arrested Wednesday afternoon on Langford Road by Henry County Sheriff’s Department Sgt. Jamie Myrick of the Metro Crime Unit.
Calvin Gene Morris, 50, of 44 Skyview St., was arrested at 3:52 p.m. for possession of a Schedule II controlled substance with the intent to sell, manufacture or deliver, as well as a misdemeanor littering charge.
He was transported to the Henry County jail and booked under a bond of $20,000. He was scheduled to appear Thursday in Henry County General Sessions Court.
Lodge to meet
Buchanan Masonic Lodge 772 on Rabbit Creek Road will confer an EA (Entered Apprentice) on Monday.
The meal will be at 6 p.m., with work to begin at 7 p.m.
