The following seven governmental meetings are scheduled during the coming week. All are open to the public.
The Henry County Election Commission will meet at 4:30 p.m. at the new commission office in the former Weston Hall at Grove School.
The Henry County Budget Committee will meet at 5 p.m. in the conference room at the courthouse.
The Henry County Highway Commission will meet at 5:30 p.m. at the Highway Department on Cedar Street in Paris.
The Henry County Planning Commission will meet at 3 p.m. in the Chancery courtroom at the courthouse.
The Henry County Courthouse Committee will meet at 4 p.m. in the conference room at the courthouse.
The Puryear Mayor and Board of Aldermen will meet at 4:30 p.m. at Puryear City Hall.
The Cottage Grove Legislative Council will meet at 6 p.m. at the former Cottage Grove School building.
County Home Road closure set
A portion of County Home Road east of the Highway 218 Bypass will be closed Tuesday for culvert replacement, according to the Henry County Highway Department.
The road will be closed for two-tenths of a mile south of Elkhorn Road. The last accessible address for motorists traveling from Elkhorn Road will be 4795 County Home Road.
Hunter Drive and Country Wood Drive may be used as alternate routes to detour around this project.
The road will be reopened for early afternoon traffic Tuesday.
Wrong breakfast time
The AMVETS Post 45 will be selling an all-one-can-eat breakfast from 8-11 a.m. on Sunday at its post home on Highway 79 northeast near Paris Landing.
Information provided to The P-I for an article in Tuesday’s newspaper had incorrectly stated the breakfast would begin at 7 a.m.
