Scouts raise funds for pups
Cub Scout Pack 226 of Puryear is teaming up with the Henry County Sheriff’s Department Animal Shelter and will be accepting donations for the shelter.
Scouting for a “Paws” Cause will be from 1-4 p.m. Saturday at Memorial Park.
The Sheriff’s Department will be grilling hot dogs, which will be sold along with drinks.
Donated items will be raffled and coupons and discounts from local businesses will be available.
There will be a doggie treat bake sale as well.
Donation boxes will also be placed around town at various businesses.

Babysitting workshop set
Henry County Extension Director Michele Atkins is offering a babysitting workshop for youths ages 12-14 who are just starting to babysit and would like to learn more.
The workshop will be from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sept. 20 at the Extension office.
The class will cost $10, which includes lunch and supplies, and registration will be capped at 25 students.
The class will teach first aid and other important babysitting lessons through hands-on activities.
