The Demolition Derby has a different flavor compared to other Fish Fry events. The high energy and aggressive driving makes for a unique viewing experience.
The derby will take place at 7 p.m. Saturday, the opening night of Fish Fry, at the Henry County Fairgrounds. Gates will open at 5 p.m. Those taking part in the demolishing have to pay a fee of $40 to enter their car in the competition.
General admission is $10, though children ages 6-10 can get in for $5. Children under age 5 get in free.
The event is promoted by Brad Dublin, who can be reached at 270-970-0551.
Chris Martin is the chairman of the derby and his company, Chris Martin Construction, is sponsoring. Tractors in the derby are donated by Wells Tractor Company of Paris. With the event having been called off last year because of COVID-19, derby fans will be in for a treat with the return of one of their favorite pastimes.
