The following four governmental meetings are scheduled during the coming week. All are open to the public.
The Americans with Disabilities advisory board will meet at 10 a.m. at Paris city hall.
The Northwest Henry Utility District board will meet at 6 p.m. at the Whitlock fire station.
The Henry County Budget Committee will meet at 5 p.m. in the conference room at the courthouse.
The Henry County Highway Commission will meet at 5:30 p.m. at the highway department headquarters on Cedar Street in Paris.
Paris man arrested on drug warrants by deputy
A Paris man was arrested on warrant drug charges early Thursday morning at the Henry County Sheriff’s Department.
Jackie Youngblood, 68, of 940 Rison St., was arrested by Sheriff’s Deputy William Whitaker at 12:35 a.m. on a charge of selling a Schedule II controlled substance and two charges of selling a Schedule IV controlled substance.
According to an arrest report, Youngblood was to appear Thursday in Henry County General Sessions Court. He was booked under a bond of $200,000.
Puryear Board quit-claims unused alley on Cherry Street
The Puryear Mayor and Board of Aldermen Tuesday afternoon approved a quit-claim deed for a long-unused alley on Cherry Street.
The financial report showed a total of more than $428,000 in all funds and deposits of just more than $35,300 the previous month. Bills of more than $13,280 were approved to be paid.
Helping Hand radio auction dates were incorrect
The dates for the 2020 Helping Hand radio auction contained an error in Wednesday’s Post-Intelligencer.
The auction will be from Jan. 6 through Feb. 26. The end date was erroneously listed as Feb. 16.
