Two men were arrested on active felony warrants early Wednesday morning after trying to evading arrest on Highway 641 southwest of Paris.
Robert Kyle Brewer, 34, of 170 Third St. in Big Sandy and Garrett K. French, 30, of 11805 Hwy. 641 southwest of Paris near the Halfway community, were arrested by Henry County Sheriff’s Deputy William Whitaker and Cpl. Stacey Bostwick at 1:36 a.m.
According to a report from Whitaker, he and Bostwick received an anonymous tip that Brewer was staying at French’s address. They went to the home since Brewer had active felony warrants, and they saw Brewer and French standing outside of the residence.
Whitaker said French also had active felony warrants.
He said once Brewer and French saw the officers approach, they both ran inside and refused to come out.
After Whitaker and Bostwick entered the home, both men were arrested on their warrants as well as for evading arrest.
Bostwick found a bag of drug paraphernalia in Brewer’s vehicle.
Brewer was charged with evading arrest, two counts of possession of unlawful drug paraphernalia, shoplifting, theft of property, possession of a legend drug, DUI second offense and a violation of the seatbelt law.
He is scheduled to appear today in Henry County General Sessions Court. His bond was set at $25,500.
