If all goes as planned, Henry County will return to an in-person Helping hand auction next year.
The Henry County Helping Hand Board of Directors intend to return to the live radio auction format in 2022, according to a statement released late Wednesday night by the board.
The auction, which is a major funding source for Henry County non-profit organizations, converted to an online auction in 2021 because of the COVID-19 pandemic.
The statement reads as follows:
The Henry County Helping Hand Board of Directors plans to return to a live in-person and radio auction in 2022! A safety committee will establish modifications and guidelines to help protect everyone involved, from volunteers to bidders.
Tentative auction dates are Monday, January 10th through Wednesday, March 2nd at the Paris Convention Center. Helping Hand will soon contact communities and organizations to set the calendar and will need additional volunteers to make the auction run smoothly.
Make plans to volunteer, donate money, and provide items for bidding to support over 80 nonprofit charitable organizations in our community.
Applications for organizations to receive funding will be available in a few days beginning Tuesday, October 12th at the office of McLean and McLean Attorneys, 206 W. Washington Street, Paris, TN 38242. The deadline for returning the completed applications is Friday, November 12th at 5:00 p.m."
