A Henry County man died Monday after he and a woman were found with apparent gunshot wounds in an area off of Highway 641 north of Paris.
Lonzie W. Dunlap III, 30, and Kristen D. Warren, 39, of Henry County were found Monday morning at the 6000 block of Old Paris Murray Road, bleeding from their wounds.
Both were airlifted by helicopter to medical facilities in Nashville. Dunlap was then pronounced dead upon arriving at a hospital.
The Henry County Sheriff’s Department shared information which indicated that it had been notified of the incident through 911 dispatch about 9:40 a.m.
Officers went to the scene along with Henry County Emergency Medical Services and found Dunlap and Warren both lying near the rear of a vehicle in the roadway.
The sheriff’s department stated that an initial investigation found no evidence of another person, aside from Dunlap and Warren, being involved in the shooting. The incident is believed to have resulted from a domestic dispute between the two and it is currently under investigation.
