Development council plans canned goods giveaway Tuesday
The Northwest Tennessee Economic Development Council will have a commodities giveaway from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesday.
Anyone with a “red card” may receive canned goods from the parking lot outside of the council’s office at 55 Jones Bend Road Ext.
Anyone who does not have a red card and wants to get one can receive one at the council’s office before 3:30 p.m. today.

Benefit set for family of Renae Watkins
A benefit has been planned by the Paris-Henry County Jaycees for the family of Renae Watkins of Paris.
The benefit involves the sale of ribeye or chicken sandwiches, chips and a drink for $8. The benefit is scheduled from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Oct. 29 at the Jaycees building, 880 Industrial Road in Paris.
Saturday at 5 p.m. will be the pre-order deadline. Limited orders will be available on the day of the benefit.
Money will go toward helping Watkins’ family pay medical and personal expenses that have been incurred by her illness.
