A man living in Puryear was arrested for felony sex crimes Friday morning by a Henry County Sheriff’s Department officer.
Bryce L. Owens, 22, was charged with mitigated statutory rape, sexual battery, solicitation, and exploitation.
Sheriff’s Cpl. David Andrews made the arrest at 6:32 a.m. at Owens’ home at 211 Pete Valentine Road.
Details of the incident have not yet been released.
Solicitation refers to forcing another person into committing a crime and exploitation, in sexual cases, involves inducing a minor to engage in sexual acts that are observed by somebody, typically over some form of electronic communication source such as a webcam.
Solicitation and exploitation are felonies when a minor is involved.
Owens is scheduled to appear Sept. 29 in Henry County General Sessions Court. His bond is $25,000.
