More information on a two-vehicle accident that injured both drivers on Feb. 15 has been provided by the Tennessee Highway Patrol.
The two vehicles collided head-on while driving on Highway 79 northeast of Paris in the Paris Landing area.
The drivers, Nikki Burns, 78, and William H. Maki, 75, both of Dover, were injured in the collision, though the extent of their injuries was not mentioned in the THP report.
Burns was driving a 2019 GMC Canyon pickup truck while Maki drove a 2012 Dodge Caravan minivan.
The report indicates the wreck occurred at 11:27 a.m. presumably when the roads were coated in ice from the beginnings of a winter storm last week.
In an unrelated incident, a Buchanan man was arrested early Saturday by Henry County Sheriff’s Deputy Kyle Waldron and charged with aggravated assault and domestic assault.
Anthony W. Belcher, 31, 245 Cypress Road, is accused of harming a female victim during an altercation at a North Market Street motel room.
An incident report by Waldron indicates the victim had visible bruises on her arms and marks around her neck.
Waldron took Belcher into custody at 12:31 a.m. at the motel.
Belcher is scheduled to appear April 8 in Henry County General Sessions Court. His bond was not included on his arrest report.
