A Paris man who told officers he had been the victim of a drive-by shooting later told officers he’d accidentally shot himself in the foot.
Officers were called to Henry County Medical Center shortly after 9 p.m. Wednesday to speak with Tyrone D. Harris Jr., 19, 345 Harrison St., Apt. B5, who was being treated with a gunshot wound.
Harris initially told Paris Patrolman Derrek Colley he’d been walking along Depot Street when a vehicle drove past, and someone shot him in the left foot.
He later told Lt. Ricky Watson of the PPD’s Criminal Investigation Division he’d shot himself in the foot by accident.
Watson said this morning that no charges had been filed against Harris, but the investigation was still ongoing.
