The Paris-Henry County Jaycees say they haven’t called off the World’s Biggest Fish Fry for this year, but they still need to have some discussion before moving forward.
Loria Plunk, general manager for this year’s Fish Fry, said the Jaycees executive board was still discussing plans for 2021. The week-long festival was canceled in 2020 because of the COVID-19 pandemic.
“The Executive Board has met and will meet again after we get some answers for questions that we have because we do not want to do anything that is unsafe for our community,” Plunk said.
“Also, for the many people that enter and attend pageants, the only thing we can say about pageants right now is we do know that we will not be having them at the end of January like we usually do, but we will keep everyone updated.
“We felt we needed to get the word out there that we are thinking about it and we want everyone to know, as last year, we want to make sure people are safe and we are doing what is right.”
