The Paris Police Department has released the report on a two-vehicle crash which occurred just after 11:30 a.m. Wednesday.
Douglas Nathaniel Manier, 18, of Lone Oak Road was driving a 2005 Mercury and pulled out of a restaurant at 1324 E. Wood St. into the path of a 2015 Ford F-150 pickup truck.
The truck was owned by the Northeast Henry County Utility District and was driven by Betty J. Day of East Antioch Road.
She was headed west on East Wood.
Manier was trapped inside his vehicle and had to be extricated. He was transported by ambulance to Henry County Medical Center, then treated for injuries at Vanderbilt Medical Center in Nashville.
Day was not transported, according to the report by PPD Patrolman Johnathan Baxter.
Baxter’s report indicated Manier failed to yield the right-of-way. Day told Baxter she attempted to miss Manier’s car but was unable to stop.
Both drivers were using their shoulder and lap belts and both vehicles were towed.
The Mercury suffered disabling damage to the center of its driver’s side while the Ford truck had front end damage.
The street was cleared after about an hour.
