A Paris man was arrested Monday night on warrants for attempted second-degree murder and aggravated assault in an incident in which he allegedly deliberately drove his vehicle into a woman’s vehicle.
Victor T. Sims, 29, was arrested at 11:42 p.m. at the intersection of Highway 641 north of Paris and the Highway 218 Bypass by Henry County Sheriff’s Deputy Kyle Waldron.
The incident, which occurred on July 26, involved Sims with two different women.
One was a passenger in Sims’ vehicle and the other he said he was trying to avoid when she arrived at his home.
Sims sped away in a bronze Toyota Avalon after one of the victims pulled into his driveway at 3 a.m. The victim followed Sims to Caledonia Street, while he collided with her vehicle twice in attempts to run her off the road.
Sims eventually abandoned the car and fled the scene on foot, while both women escaped unharmed.
He is scheduled to appear Thursday in Henry County General Sessions Court with his bond set at $600,000.
