Confederate daughters to meet

The Paris chapter of United Daughters of the Confederacy will meet at 11 a.m. Saturday at Tom’s Pizza & Steak House.

Members should note the time and place have changed for this meeting only.

Kustoff to be in Paris Tuesday

Congressman David Kustoff, R-Tenn., will be providing a legislative update from noon to 1 p.m. Tuesday at Moustos Pasta and Grill, 1305 E. Wood St.

Kustoff represents the 8th Congressional District, which includes Henry County and virtually all of West Tennessee outside of Memphis.

Kustoff will be making comments regarding his recent trip to the Mexican border, and a question-and-answer session will follow.

The luncheon will be Dutch treat.

Paris milling, paving to start

The Paris Street Department will begin milling and paving Monday.

The milling and paving will be done on Pennsylvania Avenue, Harding Road, Volunteer Drive from Jim Adams Drive to Memorial Drive, as well as Jim Adams Drive.

Paving only will be done on South Bell Avenue and Robinson Drive. Work will continue until all streets have been completed.
