A Buchanan man was booked into the Henry County jail Tuesday morning and charged with homicide for his involvement in a fatal car crash in April.

David A. Jenkins, 33, was charged with two counts of vehicular homicide, one count each of vehicular assault (reported as a DUI), aggravated assault and failure to appear, and two counts of reckless endangerment.

Jenkins was one of three drivers involved in an accident April 7 on Highway 641 southeast of Paris.

Kimberly McDaniel, a Rhea Elementary School teacher, died as a result of the accident.

According to an arrest report, Henry County Sheriff’s Cpl. Dalton Watson detained Jenkins about 2:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Shelby County Jail and brought him to Henry County.

Jenkins’ bond was set at $2,000 for the failure to appear charge and he was denied bond on the remainder of the charges.

He was set to appear Tuesday in Henry County General Sessions Court for the failure to appear charge. He is scheduled to appear Monday in Henry County Circuit Court on the rest of the charges.
