Thirty people from Benton and Henry counties were arrested Tuesday in the Big Sandy area as part of a multi-agency roundup targeting methamphetamine and other illicit drugs.

Dubbed “Operation Icebreaker,” the 14-month operation was led by special agents with the Drug Investigation Division of the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation and the Big Sandy Police Department.

They were assisted by officers from the Paris Police Department and Henry County Sheriff’s Department, among other agencies assisting.

According to information from the TBI, an undercover investigation into the sale of illicit drugs in Benton County began in August of 2019.

On Monday, a Benton County grand jury returned indictments charging multiple people with a variety of charges.  

On Tuesday, TBI agents joined law enforcement officers with the Big Sandy PD, Benton County Sheriff’s Department, Camden Police Department, 24th Judicial District Drug Task Force, Henderson County Sheriff’s Department, Henry County Sheriff’s Department, Paris Police Department, Decatur County Sheriff’s Department, and the Tennessee Highway Patrol in locating and arresting 25 of those people.

Five additional people were arrested on other charges during the roundup.

Of those 25, 23 suspects were charged with possession of methamphetamine with intent to sell, manufacture or deliver.

Those arrested, with their ages, addresses and any additional charges include:

• Christopher L. Akers, 39, Big Sandy, conspiracy to sell or deliver meth.

• Monica Dawn Ball, 49, Camden, conspiracy, felony child endangerment.

• Jeremy Michael Buie, 42, Paris, conspiracy.

• Christa Sueann Bunch, 30, Big Sandy, conspiracy.

• Michael Lloyd Brandenburg, 57, Big Sandy, conspiracy.

• Joyce Diane Camper, 51, Big Sandy, conspiracy.

• Alice Nicole Cannon, 33, Big Sandy, conspiracy.

• Cory Andrew Clayton Jr., 39, Big Sandy.

• Cheyenne Nicole Dean, 26, Big Sandy, conspiracy.

• Scottie Joe Goodman, 42, Big Sandy.

• Elijah Cody Gray, 36, Big Sandy, conspiracy.

• Christopher R.  Guin, 40, Big Sandy, conspiracy.

• James Robert Horath, 42, Paris, conspiracy.

• James Allen Hunter, 48, Big Sandy, conspiracy.

• Stacy Lynn Hunter, 50, Big Sandy, conspiracy, possession of drug paraphernalia.

• Joshua Lee James, 31, Big Sandy, conspiracy.

• Brittany Lynn Kemp, 25, Big Sandy, conspiracy.

• Nathan Lee Page, 24, Paris.

• Donald Glen Parker, 56, Big Sandy, conspiracy.

• Chris Shannon, 41, Big Sandy, conspiracy.

• Steven Threet, 61, Big Sandy, conspiracy.

• Thomas Brandon Vestal, 38, Big Sandy, conspiracy.

• Keith Anthony Wrady, 50, Big Sandy, conspiracy.

Also arrested as a result of the indictment were Randall Edward Williams, 36, and Danny Ray Dunn, 69, both of Big Sandy. Williams was charged with simple possession of an unspecified drug while Dunn was charged with simple possession of meth. Each was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia.

The following were arrested on additional charges:

• Kimberly M. Gann, 46, Big Sandy, simple possession of meth, drug paraphernalia.

• Walter David Leon Russom, 23, Big Sandy, drug paraphernalia.

• Daniel Allen McMullen, 28, Big Sandy, unspecified Benton County arrest warrants.

• Destiny Fay Scarborough, 23, Big Sandy, simple possession of an illegal drug, drug paraphernalia.

• Jesse James Youngblood, 27, Paris, unspecified Henry County arrest warrants.
