Scoring a touchdown on the first drive and kicking a field goal on the second was all the points the Henry County High School football team needed in dealing a 10-6 loss to Memphis Ridgeway in the first round of the Class 5A playoffs Friday at Patriot Stadium.
The Patriots recovered a fumble on the game's opening kickoff and turned the miscue into points when Joseph Travis ran four yards for a touchdown.
Henry County's Malachi Calhoun blocked a Ridgeway punt that set the Patroits' second drive that led to Darrius Stephens kicking a 25-yard field goal to put the Patriots up 10-0.
Ridgeway answered with a touchdown run to end the first period and that was all of the scoring in the defensive battle.
Both teams had less than 200 yards in total offense.
Henry County (9-2) will move on to the second round of the playoffs to host fellow Region 7-5A member Clarksville (7-4) at 7 p.m. on Friday. Clarksville squeezed out a 29-28 victory over Munford in the playoff's first round at Munford.
