Adventures in Kitchen set

The Henry County Extension Service is having a two-day camp for children July 1-2. They will learn such things as cooking skills, healthy eating, physical activity and its importance.

In Adventures in the Kitchen, the students will be making and trying recipes.

While there will be six hands-on cooking lessons created by UT Extension, the camp will be from 8:30 a.m. to noon those two days.

For children ages 10-12, class size is limited to 20 with a deadline of June 26. Preregistration is required and the cost is $20 with supplies and snacks provided.

Ribbon cutting planned

The Paris-Henry County Chamber of Commerce will be having a ribbon cutting ceremony at 10 a.m. today at Southern Grace Clothing & Home Decor, 407 N. Market St.

The new business offers new and gently-worn clothing for the whole family, as well as home decor, vintage and refurbished antiques.

That’s actually 42 years

A story in Thursday’s Post-Intelligencer about Henry Volunteer Fire Department member Ron Wyatt being named a Modern Woodmen’s Hometown Hero missed his number of years of service.

A press release said more than 15 years. However, Wyatt said he’s been a Henry firefighter for 42 years.
