The Henry County Highway Commission voted during its Monday meeting to recommend two new roads be accepted as county roads.
The recommendations now go to the Henry County Commission for its approval.
The Keys Cove, off Eagle Nest Road, and Watts Cove, off Highway 77 south of Paris, have both been paved by their owners to county specifications.
Dickey Mobley owns the property that Keys Cove goes into while Brandon Lewis owns Watts Cove.
Keys Cove is about 250 feet long, while Watts is some 700 feet.
In other action, members formally approved the 2019-20 budget.
During public response time, Mike Shinault, Jamie Russell and James Lenz asked about future paving plans for sections of Caledonia Street as well as asking that grass be mowed. They were also concerned about grass growing too high on bridge approaches.
Road Supervisor Richie Chilcutt reported the department was about halfway through its tar and chip work that was planned.
He also reported they are going to try to replace culverts on Three Bridges Road with a bridge as well as perhaps putting a new bridge on Kuykendall Road in November.
The current closing of a portion of India Road for culvert replacement is more complicated than usual because one water line and a gas line are on one side of the road there with another water line on the opposite side.
Cody Craig, 1st District commissioner, reported potholes needed to be filled on both
Briarpatch Lake Road and Barrs Chapel Road while Michael Parker, 3rd District commissioner, said Timberlake Road also needed attention.
