A Paris man was arrested Tuesday night for allegedly pointing a handgun at somebody with whom he was arguing.

John Sprouse, 59, 140 Summerfield Drive, was charged with aggravated assault and domestic assault after being arrested by Henry County Sheriff’s Deputy Steven Dean Jr.

An incident report written by Dean indicated that Sprouse and the victim had gotten into an argument Monday, leading to the victim staying in a motel room for the night.

The victim then returned to a camper near Sprouse’s residence on Tuesday.

A witness who was also inside the camper told Dean she saw the victim open the door and Sprouse pointed the gun at him.

Sprouse was apparently yelling from outside of the camper before the victim opened the door.

A silver Taurus revolver was found by Dean and confiscated from Sprouse. He was then taken into custody at 6:50 p.m. at his residence.

Sprouse is scheduled to appear today in Henry County General Sessions Court. His bond was not included in his arrest report.
