A Food from the Heart Drive will be conducted tonight (Friday, Nov. 8) and Saturday, Nov. 9, at four Paris grocery stores to benefit the Henry County Food Bank.
Volunteers from Tennessee Valley Community Church will be asking for food donations from 6-8 p.m. this evening and from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday.
They’ll be outside Kroger, 1059 Mineral Wells Ave.; Save- a- Lot, 1031B Mineral Wells Ave.; Cashsavers, 1301 W. Wood St.; and Lakeway IGA, 2601 E. Wood St.
Food Bank volunteer Sherry Pool said 100% of the food items collected will benefit people of Henry County, because they will be distributed through the Food Bank.
She said the Food Bank is encouraging the community to take action. So far this year, the Food Bank has given food to 1,653 local adults and children, with 1,032 bags filled with nutritionally balanced meals.
“Thanks for giving,” Pool said.
