A minor subdivision in the Kentucky Lake area intended for storage units was approved at Tuesday’s meeting of the Henry County Planning Commission.
The board approved the 4.7-acre subdivision submitted on behalf of developers Bob Price and Gary Permenter.
The property on Buchanan Resort Road near Lakeview Drive will be divided into six lots, ranging from about half an acre to nearly one acre.
The property will also include an ice machine, and may also include some boat sheds and a small house, according to County Mayor Brent Greer.
In other business, the board:
• Declined action on a request to consolidate a 5.84-acre subdivision on Mills Lane and Ratterree Road.
The board was initially asked to vacate the seven-parcel plat, which is part of the Three Oaks Point subdivision initially approved in the 1960s.
The owners, Elmo and Jane Bass, sought to combine the existing lots into one.
After discussion, the board agreed no action on their part was needed, and will advise the property owners a formal resurvey of the property will achieve the desired effect.
• Granted a variance for a 30-by-30-foot parcel at Elkhorn Cemetery on Elkhorn Road.
The small lot will be used for equipment necessary for bringing fiber optic capability to that area.
