Homecoming queen to be picked Friday

The Henry County High School Homecoming football game is Friday night, with the Homecoming court to be introduced and queen crowned before the game.

The following candidates were selected by their peers to represent their classes on this year’s court:

• Representing the Class of 2022 will be Tati Sperber, the daughter of Debbie and Justin Sperber. She plays on the HCHS soccer team, is a member of Future Farmers of America, and participates in the Fellowship of Christian Athletes. She plans to attend the University of Tennessee to study veterinary medicine. She will be escorted by Chasden Wade, the son of Johnna and Chuck Wade.

• Also representing the sophomore class is Josey Pettit, the daughter of Tommy and Amy Pettit. She is the chapter reporter for Henry County’s FFA and competes in the Tennessee High School Rodeo Association.

After high school, she plans to attend college and continue competing in rodeos and then wants to become a veterinarian. She will be escorted by Wesley Gurton, son of Will and Karla Gurton.

• Representing the junior class will be Haleigh Henegar. She is the daughter of Leslie Henegar and Keith Henegar. She is an officer of Rock On and participates in the FCA as well as the Health Occupation Students of America. After high school, she plans to attend college with a major in education. She will be escorted by Darrius Stephens, son of Eric and Jamie Stephens.

• Also representing the Class of 2021 is Claire Burns, the daughter of Patrick and Melisha Burns. She is a member of the HCHS marching band as captain of the color guard. She also participates in the FCA and Rock On. After high school, she wants to attend college and major in music education and performance. She will be escorted by Holden Beauregard, son of Rebecca Seacle and Charles Beauregard.

• Representing this year’s graduating class is Gabby Lucas. She is the daughter of Jessica Andrews and Scott Lucas. She is in the French club and performs in community productions at the Krider Performing Arts Center.

After high school, she plans to study performing arts at Austin Peay State University. She will be escorted Friday night by Donte Davis, son of Crystal Greer.

• Allie Thompson will also be representing the senior class. The daughter of Christy and Reggie Thompson, she participates in Students Against Distracted Driving, FCA and Rock On. After graduation, she plans to attend the University of Memphis to major in criminology and minor in African-American studies. She will be escorted by Jayln Foster, son of Dontae Foster and Shontac Foster.

• The third representative of the Class of 2020 is Rachel Mitchell, daughter of Robb and Maurie Ann Mitchell. She is a captain of the cheer team, participates in FFA and is a part of the Health Occupation Students of America. She is also a member of the Leo Club and National Honor Society. She plans to attend Union University and then go to medical school to become a dermatologist. She will be escorted Friday night by Paul D. Atkins, son of Jeff and Teri Lynn Atkins.
