PARIS TN: What’s the buzz? Beekeepers course is Saturday

Bees crowd around a local hive in this undated photo from the Kentucky Lake Beekeepers Association. The association will be having its annual short course to introductory beekeeping Saturday morning at the Henry County Farm Bureau office, 406 N. Poplar St. Registration begins at 8 a.m., with the course starting at 8:30 a.m. Titled Beekeeping 101, the course covers beekeeping history, biology and behavior of bees, necessary equipment, feeding and a host of other topics. The price is $10 a person or $15 a family. Lunch and snacks will be provided. Three drawings will be held for starting beekeepers, including one for a starter kit complete with a beehive and accessories. The course will include instruction from master beekeeper Kent Williams. To preregister, email Cathy Crouch at sunflowerslovebees@gmail.com using the phrase “short course” in the subject line.

Such a great idea! I wish the story had run earlier in the week - one day's notice is not enough.
