PARIS TN: Driver loses control avoiding raccoon

A frozen-food truck rests in a field Wednesday morning just off Highway 641 north of Paris after the driver lost control trying to avoid an animal. Driver Ronald Perry of Memphis said he was driving south on Highway 641 when a raccoon or some other animal darted out into his path and he swerved to avoid it. He was driving toward Paris just a few hundred yards north of the Highway 218 Bypass intersection, and went off the left side of 641 and squeezed through pine trees, taking large limbs with him. The truck stopped after about 100 yards. Perry said he was wearing his seat belt and wasn’t hurt, until he tried to get out of the cab and cut his hand on glass. He said he drives for KTS of Olive Branch, Miss., and had delivered food to a Murray restaurant before heading to Paris with food for the Hong Kong Chinese Restaurant. Responding to the wreck were the Tennessee Highway Patrol, Henry County Sheriff’s Department, two Paris Fire Department engines and an ambulance.

text messaging perhaps the raccoon story sounds a tad far fetched

some people do actually have a heart and will swerve to miss an animal maybe he actually was telling the truth
