Significant progress made Thursday on Patriot Stadium

Ryan Jones (left) of ASP Enterprises and Alex Cain of AstroTurf lay down mats for gravel to be unloaded on Thursday afternoon on the grounds of Patriot Stadium. Jones said now that the gravel is covering the dirt, rainfall will no longer delay work from being done on the field since the ground won’t get muddy. Rain has been significant in delaying the completion of the stadium project, originally planned to be completed before the HCHS graduation in May. Workers will soon be adding finer stones on top of the gravel to make it more suitable to run on, the men said, and they hope to have their work on the field done by Monday or Tuesday. Once that’s finished, another company will begin laying down the synthetic turf.
