PARIS TN: Honoring cancer survivors and victims

In her 22nd year organizing Relay for Life events in Paris, Joyce Bass lights luminaria Friday night all around the court square. The luminaria honor people who are battling cancer and memorialize those who have died because of it. Despite the traditional Relay for Life event being canceled this year, more than 600 luminaria were purchased for at least $5 each. The names on each were read by Bass to a crowd of about 20 people at the court square, and the proceeds go to the American Cancer Society.
