PARIS TN: Complicated culvert replacement

Andy Bratton (center) operates a big trackhoe digging dirt in which a new culvert will go as Carlos McCutcheon (left) and Khris Dumas watch Tuesday on India Road just outside of Paris. At far left is a power pole across the ditch supporting a water line. Not seen on the right side is another water line as well as a gas line. Because of those lines, this culvert replacement is one of the most complicated the Henry County Highway Department has tackled in the past few years, according to Brian Solowey, the crew’s foreman. The Highway Department hopes to have the road back open by Thursday.
