Puryear Cub Scouts support Sheriff’s animal shelter

The crowd listens as Sheriff Monte Belew (third from right) talks about his K-9 officer Si, and demonstrates how the dog follows instructions and commands. Cub Scout Pack 226 from Puryear sponsored Scouting for a Paws Cause at Eiffel Tower Park Saturday. One of the two dogs brought from the shelter was adopted early during the two-hour event. In addition, a raffle was held with many prizes including huge bags of dog food. Among the officers joining Belew were Deputies Oscar Starks (right) and Britany Nance (obscured).
