PARIS TN: Driver injured in farm vehicle accident

Crews work to clear the road after a one-vehicle accident that happened late Tuesday afternoon on Highway 69A east of Paris near the Mays Bridge Road intersection. According to the report supplied by Tennessee Highway Patrol Sgt. Jena Eubanks, the accident happened at 4:51 p.m. when the three-wheeled Ag-Chem Terra Gator 9103 self-propelled fertilizer spreader driven by Elwynn Friesen, 27, of Wingo, Ky., was heading toward Paris near Mays Bridge Road. As the vehicle negotiated a curve on an uphill grade, it went off the right side of the road and went into a ditch. As the Terra Gator attempted to re-enter the roadway, the vehicle landed on its right side, blocking both lanes. Friesen was injured in the accident, but information about his condition was unavailable Thursday. The accident shut down a long stretch of Highway 69A from Clifty Creek Road to Mays Bridge Road. In addition to the THP, personnel from the Henry County Sheriff’s Department and the Oakland Volunteer Fire Department responded to the scene.
