Raising hopes

Ben Hassell (center), president of the Optimist Club, and Chris Mooney (right), the club’s Youth/Buddy program chairman, present $2,000 to Carl Anderson, director of the REAL Hope Youth Center. The money will go toward the center’s five-year plan to build a full-service facility for the youth of Paris and Henry County. The Optimist Club is challenging all civic organizations to match their donation, and get their logo attached to the REAL Hope “vision” sign at the corner of Peppers Drive and India Road, where the REAL Hope organization wants to build that full-service center.
